Not even ten years ago, long hair wigs were pretty much unheard of. Mainly because wigs looked like “wigs.” Thanks to changes in development, wigs now look all natural. In fact, you can’t even tell a wig if you saw one.
My wigs (even the longs ones) were so natural looking people thought it was my hair. They would even comment and say stuff like, “Don’t you have Cancer?” I know this sounds like a shocking question, but trust me when you got Cancer this is the least of the shocking questions you get. Anyway, it looked so natural it fooled people everywhere I went.

If you want the natural hair look, then you will have to pay the price. Since it is harder to get long human hair for wigs, it will cost you more to get them. They are among the most expensive wigs on the market. But people who get them say they are worth every cent.
I never got a real hair wig. I stuck with the synthetic. Yes, I was cheap and besides that is all I could afford. Not to mention, that is all that I could find at the discount price for Cancer Patients. Nevertheless, I will swear by the stylist. Personally, I think it is all about the cut.
Tips to Make Your Wig Look Even Better
Stylist
As you can probably tell, I am all about the stylist. Wigs come with about 30% more hair than needed. This means you need to get it cut and thinned to look right. Just like any hair-do, you will want a cut that complements your face. It may be a wig, but it is not a miracle worker. If you can’t pull off super straight cut, then go with layers.
Styling Products
If you go through all the expense of getting a long human hair wig, then find you some styling products made for human hair wigs. Yes, you can use regular styling products but why would you? You need to get the stuff made for wigs so your wig will look its best and stay looking its best.
Prevent Tangles
Tangles is a four letter word when it comes to long wigs. Natural hair or synthetic, long wigs are prone to tangles. A few secrets will help you prevent tangles and keep your wig looking better longer.
- Wear the wig in an up-do if is going to be windy or if you planning a lot of activity. (Dancing, running, anything bouncy)
- Gently brush the wig after each use.
- A good conditioner and detangler is always nice.
- Spray some static guard on the hair to prevent frizz.
